WTC Points Table: The race for the ICC World Test Championship final is getting more exciting with each passing day. The equations have changed a lot after India lost the three-match Test series to New Zealand. While earlier Team India and Australia were considered strong contenders for the finalists, now South Africa and Sri Lanka have also come into this race. Meanwhile, the second Test match was played between Bangladesh and West Indies in Kingston, in which the visiting team won. In such a situation, let us know what is the status of the ICC World Test Championship points table (WTC Points Table) after this clash.

Changes in WTC Points Table

The two-match Test series played between Bangladesh  and West Indies ended in a 1-1 draw. In the second match played in Kingston on 30 November, India had to face a huge defeat of 101 runs at the hands of Bangladesh team. At the same time, if we talk about the ICC World Test Championship Points Table (WTC Points Table), then there are no major changes in it. Bangladesh has 45 points in its account, which is more than Pakistan. After losing the match, the West Indies team has gone to the last position.

New Zealand has suffered a loss

The New Zealand cricket team is on a tour of England for a three-match Test series. The first match between the two teams was played in Christchurch from November 28, in which the English team won by eight wickets. Apart from this defeat, the Kiwi team has suffered another major setback. New Zealand has received three penalty points for slow over rate, which has benefited India. Actually, New Zealand’s percentage score has become 47.92, due to which it is out of the race for the final. At present, apart from India and Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka are contenders for the finalist.

India will have to do this to reach the final

If we talk about the equation of Team India to make it to the final, then it will have to win the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia. If India wins this series 5-0, 4-1, 4-0 or 3-0, then it will get its name written in the ticket to the final. In this situation, the Indian team will not have to depend on any other team and Australia will be out of the race for the final. At the same time, if India captures the series 3-1, then it will have to pray that Sri Lanka wins the second Test match against South Africa.
