Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins was injured due to an ankle injury in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Due to this, he could not be a part of the Sri Lanka series and Champions Trophy 2025. But now Pat Cummins has told cricket.com.au that he is preparing to return to IPL 2025. Pat Cummins reacted to this and said,

‘The ankle has started to get better. It’s weird. It’s not like a hamstring where you take six weeks (to heal). It needs rest. So we just don’t have time for Pakistan. The injury is not new or an issue that will affect him for a long time. It’s one of those things you have to manage.’

Pat Cummins has said that he has started running. He also said that,

‘In T20, bowling is four overs. So physically it is a very good preparation for the World Test Championship final and the Test matches after that. That is the aim, to start bowling in the next week or so, prepare and be right for the IPL’. 

Last year, SRH was taken to the finals

Sunrisers Hyderabad reached the final of IPL 2024 under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. But in the final, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Shreyas Iyer’s Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets with 57 balls to spare and won the trophy. The team is waiting to win the trophy since 2016. Pat Cummins has taken 63 wickets in 58 matches in the IPL so far. He has also scored 515 runs with 3 half-centuries. In IPL 2024, he took 18 wickets in 16 matches at an economy of 9.27.
