Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli has been as great a batsman
in the history of IPL as his face value has also been the highest in this league. Kohli has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team since the first season of IPL. In every auction, RCB keeps Kohli in the team by paying him a huge amount. Something similar was seen this time as well. Bangalore retained Kohli, but there are 2 foreign players on whom the franchises trusted more than him in this retention. Let’s know what the whole matter is.

South Africa’s most dangerous batsman Heinrich Klaasen surpassed Virat Kohli to become the most expensive player to be retained before the mega auction. This batsman was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 23 crore. With this, Klaasen has become the most expensive retained player in IPL history. Before this, no player was retained by paying such a huge amount  . Last season, Klaasen scored 479 runs in 16 matches for Hyderabad at a strike rate of 107.

Not only Heinrich Klaasen was ahead in leaving Virat Kohli behind, but Lucknow Super Giants wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran was also at par with Kohli in this matter. LSG has retained Pooran for 21 crores. If reports are to be believed, Pooran can also be made the captain of Lucknow in IPL 2025. Talking about Pooran’s IPL career, this batsman has scored 1769 runs in 76 matches at a strike rate of 162.29.
