Ranji Trophy 2024-25 . The fourth round match between Madhya Pradesh and Bihar is being played at the Moin-ul-Haq Cricket Stadium in Patna. Batting first in this match which started on November 6, the Madhya Pradesh team dominated the Bihar team on the second day as well. Star batsman Iyer played
a century innings for his team and played an important role in taking the Madhya Pradesh team to a strong position in this match.
Venkatesh Iyer missed the double century

Playing for Madhya Pradesh, Venkatesh batted explosively in the first innings against Bihar and scored 174 runs in 176 balls with the help of 17 fours and 4 sixes. During this, his strike rate was 98.86. Madhya Pradesh lost its first 4 wickets for 147 runs , after which Venkatesh, along with Shubham Sharma, brought the team back in the match and took Madhya Pradesh’s score close to 500 against Bihar. There was a partnership of 366 runs between the two for the fifth wicket.
Second century scored in first class career

This was Iyer’s second century in first class cricket. His first century came against Pondicherry in the last season of Ranji Trophy. In that match, Iyer scored 135 runs. Due to which Madhya Pradesh managed to win that match by a huge margin of 319 runs.
KKR had released Venkatesh Iyer
Iyer was recently released from the team by IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders before the mega auction. A few days later, Iyer proved KKR’s decision wrong by playing this innings. Last year, Iyer played a big role in making KKR the champion. Venkatesh Iyer performed brilliantly for KKR
in IPL 2024. He scored 370 runs in 14 matches , including four half-centuries.
