Gill and Varun together dismissed Travis’s Head

The first semi-final match of the Champions Trophy 2025 is going on between the Indian team and Australia. In this match, Australian opener Travis Head was once again batting in rhythm like the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The player also got a lifeline.

But then Team India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty dismissed the player on his very first ball. Captain Rohit Sharma gave the responsibility of dismissing Head to Varun Chakraborty. Varun took the wicket of Travis Head in the 9th and his first over of the innings. Travis Head hit a fast shot towards long off. But there was no fielder there. But Shubman Gill, standing on the forward side, ran 23 meters to his left and took a brilliant catch with both hands.

The umpire gave a warning to Gill

Shubman Gill took a brilliant catch of Travis Head, but the field umpire warned Gill. Shubman Gill had caught the catch of Travis Head. But the umpire was not completely satisfied that he released the ball immediately after pouching it. Therefore, he warned Gill. 

Talking about the match, after losing the toss, Team India came to the field first. Australia scored 185 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 35 overs. In which Travis Head played an innings of 39 runs in 33 balls. In this inning, the player hit 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Cooper Connolly got out on zero. Marnus Labuschagne got out after scoring 29 runs and Josh Inglis got out after scoring 11 runs. Steve Smith is at the crease after scoring 71 runs and Alex Carey is at 29 runs. From Team India, Varun Chakravarthy took the wicket of Travis Head, Ravindra Jadeja took the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis and Mohammad Shami took the wicket of Cooper Connolly.
