The first semi-final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was played between Australia and India in Dubai on Tuesday . After winning the toss, captain Steve Smith chose to bat first, after which his innings was reduced to 264 runs in 49.3 overs. In response, the Indian team did not have a good start. Ben Dwarshvis gave the first blow to the Kangaroo team by dismissing opener Shubman Gill. This batsman, who scored a century against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy, could not even touch the ten-run mark in this match. 

Become a victim of Ben Dwarshvis 

Australian fast bowler Ben Dwarshiv came to bowl the fifth over of the Indian team‘s innings. He trapped Shubman Gill in his trap by bowling the last ball of this over outside the off stump. He tried to play a cut shot on the good length ball of the Kangaroo bowler, but the inside edge of the bat hit the wickets and Shubman Gill’s innings came to an end. The young batsman was able to score only eight runs in 11 balls, which included one four. Indian fans were very disappointed with his performance, due to which he had to face trolling on social media. 

Rohit Sharma’s bat also remained silent 

Apart from Shubman Gill, Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s bat also remained silent. While opening, he failed to play a big innings. He scored 28 runs in 29 balls. During this, he hit three fours and a six. Apart from this, he shared partnerships of 13 runs and 30 runs respectively with Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. On the other hand, if we talk about Australia’s innings, Steve Smith scored 73 runs and Alex Carey scored 61 runs. While Travis Head scored 39 runs, Marnus Labuschagne scored 29 runs, Josh English scored 11 runs and Ben Dwarshiv scored 19 runs.
