Team India (IND vs SA), who came to bat first after losing the toss, did not have a good start. India lost the wicket of its opener Sanju Samson on the second ball of the first over. Marco Jansen clean bowled him and sent him back to the pavilion. For the second consecutive match, he was out without opening his account.

However, after this,  Tilak Verma and Abhishek Sharma, who were at the crease, started teaching a lesson to the African bowlers and handled the innings. There was a century partnership of 107 runs between the two for the second wicket. After playing a stormy innings of 50 runs in 25 balls, Abhishek Sharma played a shot into the hands of Heinrich Klaasen on the ball of Keshav Maharaj.

Tilak Verma hit a stormy century

After Abhishek Sharma returned to the pavilion, Tilak Verma continued his innings and hit sixes and fours to score the first century of his T20 International cricket career. He played an unbeaten innings of 107 runs with the help of eight fours and seven sixes in 56 balls. Apart from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma, no other batsman performed well.

Suryakumar Yadav contributed one run, Hardik Pandya contributed 18 runs, Rinku Singh contributed eight runs and Ramandeep Singh contributed 15 runs. Akshar Patel remained unbeaten after scoring one run. For South Africa (IND vs SA), Andile Simelane and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets each. Apart from this, Marco Jansen took one wicket.

Even Marco Jansen’s innings could not save South Africa’s honour

In the second innings, when the South African team (IND vs SA) came out to bat, insects disrupted the match, due to which the match had to be stopped for some time. After this, when the African team came to bat, fast bowler Arshdeep Singh gave India the first success by clean bowling Ryan Rickelton. After this, the team’s wickets started falling at regular intervals. However, Heinrich Klaasen kept the innings under control by standing at one end.

He played a fighting innings of 41 runs in 22 balls, which was ended by Arshdeep Singh. After this, Marco Jansen showed his fierce form and put pressure on the Indian bowlers. Batting at a strike rate of 317, he played a quick innings of 54 runs in 17 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes and brought South Africa to the threshold of victory. But in the 19.3 over, Arshdeep Singh saved India from losing the match by getting him out LBW.

Suryakumar Yadav’s wisdom: Suryakumar Yadav  corrected the mistake of the second T20 and used his bowlers in the best way in this match. Firstly, by removing Avesh, he eliminated the weak link. Then he got Akshar Patel to bowl full 4 overs, he took the important wicket of Tristan Stubbs by giving away 29 runs. Which proved to be the turning point of this match.
