New Zealand created history by defeating South Africa by 32 runs in the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 last Sunday. This is the first time in the history of men’s and women’s cricket that New Zealand has won the T20 World Cup. Usually, the winner and runner-up teams get prize money of crores of rupees for winning the World Cup in any format. So let’s know how many crores of rupees have rained on New Zealand for winning the World Cup.
New Zealand has received a prize money of 2.34 million US dollars (about Rs 19.67 crore in Indian currency) for winning the Women’s T20 World Cup. Whereas runner-up South Africa has been given half of that amount (about Rs 9.8 crore) as prize money. Last year’s winner Australia received about Rs 1.4 crore as prize money, but this time the amount was increased by more than double.

The Indian team was placed in Group A of the Women’s World Cup 2024. Team India first lost to New Zealand and then to Australia in a do-or-die match. In this way, Harmanpreet and company could not even enter the knockout stage. According to the prize money list, the team that finished third in its group received 2.7 lakh dollars in US currency. Team India has received about Rs 2.2 crore for finishing third.
