Bad Allegations On Arshdeep Singh:

Pakistan team was eliminated from the group stage of T20 World Cup 2024. Now the former players of the team are seen making cheap allegations on Indian players. Former Pakistan batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq made bad allegations on the swing bowling of Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh. Inzamam-ul-Haq says that some serious work has been done on the ball, due to which Arshdeep is getting swing.

Inzamam said this on Pakistan’s national television. He raised questions on Arshdeep Singh’s reverse swing. On the TV channel, Inzamam-ul-Haq said, “Arshdeep Singh was reverse swinging when he was bowling the 15th over. This is very early with the new ball. This means that the ball was capable of reversing by the 12th or 13th over because when he came to bowl the 15th over, his reverse swing had started. The umpires should keep their eyes open here as well.” He said that some serious work has been done on the ball.

Arshdeep Singh is in great form

Let us tell you that Arshdeep Singh is showing excellent form in this T20 World Cup. He is currently the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament. The Indian pacer has so far taken 15 wickets in 7 matches at an average of 11.87. During this time, he has also taken 4 wickets this time.

Pakistan was badly affected

It is worth noting that the Pakistan team was badly eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024. The Pak team played the group stage matches in America. The Pak team lost 2 out of 4 matches in the group stage, while one match was won and the remaining one match was canceled due to rain. Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam, lost the first match against America. After this, they had to face defeat against India in the second match. After two consecutive defeats, Pakistan’s exit was certain.

Early Setbacks:

  • Inconsistent Form: Pakistan’s team entered the tournament with inconsistent form, leading to concerns about their ability to perform [4].
  • Surprise Defeat: They suffered a narrow defeat to the USA in their opening match, putting them on the back foot from the very beginning [2].
  • Missed Opportunities: Pakistan lost close matches against both India and India’s arch-rivals, failing to capitalize on winning positions [5].

Unfortunate Circumstances:

  • Weather Woes: Rain played a role in their elimination. A washed-out match between the USA and Ireland meant Pakistan missed out on the Super 8 stage on net run rate [2].

Overall Impact:

  • Early Exit: This all culminated in an early exit from the tournament, failing to advance past the group stage [3].
  • Fan Disappointment: This was a huge disappointment for Pakistani fans who had high hopes for their team [3].

Looking Forward:

  • Areas for Improvement: Pakistan will need to address their inconsistency and decision-making in crucial moments to bounce back in future tournaments.
  • Coach’s Analysis: The new coach, Gary Kirsten, has already acknowledged the need for improvement and will be working with the team to address these issues [5].pen_spark

  • Leading Wicket-Taker Contender: He’s currently among the tournament’s leading wicket-takers, with some sources suggesting he’s just one wicket behind the current leader [1].
  • Record Breaker: He holds two records:
    • The best bowling figures by an Indian in a T20 World Cup match (4-0-9-4) achieved against the USA [2].
    • The most wickets by an Indian bowler in a single edition of the T20 World Cup, surpassing RP Singh’s record of 12 wickets [3].
  • Partnership with Bumrah: He credits his success partly to bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah, who creates pressure on batters, making it easier for Arshdeep to pick up wickets [2].

Overall, Arshdeep Singh has been a crucial part of India’s success in the T20 World Cup so far. His pace bowling and wicket-taking abilities have been a nightmare for opposing batsmen.
