Sanju Samson: Two different teams of Team India will be seen playing cricket in different formats this month. Under the reign of head coach Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma and company have to play the 5-match Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. On the other hand, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India has to participate in a 4-match T20 series. Due to the busy schedule of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Gautam Gambhir will not be able to join the African team. Therefore, the BCCI has appointed NCA chief VVS Laxman as the head coach. Team India has reached Durban for the 4-match T20 series to be played in South Africa. The first match of this series will be played on 8 November. In which batsman Suryakumar Yadav will be seen leading the Indian team. But, who will be his deputy officer i.e. vice-captain. This has not been revealed.

But, if media reports are to be believed, Sanju Samson can be seen in the role of vice-captain in this series. Because, apart from Sanju, there is no other player in the squad who can lead Team India in the absence of Surya. In such a situation, it is being speculated that if Surya goes out of the field during the T20 series, he can hand over the responsibility of the team to Sanju.
