Rohit Sharma: After New Zealand, Team India will face Australia for a 5-match Test series. All these matches will be played on Australian soil. After losing Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai Tests against the Kiwi team, India has slipped to second place in the WTC points table. To reach the final of the World Test Championship, India will have to do a big miracle against the Kangaroos. Meanwhile, news is coming that after BGT, 2 out of the 4 senior players of Team India may announce their retirement soon. Which also includes the name of Rohit Sharma .
These 2 players can retire
The humiliating defeat against New Zealand and the setback to the hopes of reaching the WTC final has increased the pressure on the senior players of the Indian team. It is believed that 2 out of 4 senior players of the Indian team may announce retirement after the Border Gavaskar Trophy .
These players include Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin. According to a Times of India ( TOI ) report , if India does not qualify for the WTC Final , it can be ensured that any 2 of these four players may announce their retirement from Test cricket.
Team India ‘s youth brigade is ready
The young players are fully prepared to replace the senior players of Team India. Team India has the option of Washington Sundar to replace veteran spinner R Ashwin , while Akshar Patel can be given a chance for Ravindra Jadeja.
The team management has the most options for opening batting. Ruturaj Gaikwad , Sai Sudarshan and Abhimanyu Easwaran are waiting for their turn. Devdutt Padikkal can contribute in the middle order to fill the gap in the middle order.
