Team India captain Rohit Sharma had pulled himself out of the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy due to personal reasons. But now he has joined Team India before the Adelaide Test. Jaiswal and KL Rahul, who opened the batting for Team India in the Perth Test, performed brilliantly.

In such a situation, the management would probably not want to take any kind of risk by changing the opening pair. While this risk can be taken regarding the position of Padikkal, who plays in place of Gill. The reason for this is also that he did not do anything special. So the big question is at which number Rohit Sharma will be seen batting?

Rohit Sharma can play at number-3

If Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul open for Team India in Adelaide too, then Rohit Sharma can be played at number three. A big reason behind this is that till now he has not played a single match in Australia. Secondly, till now there is no official news whether Shubman Gill is fit or not.

However, recently a report came from Times of India that he will not be available for the practice match to be held on 30th and 1st December. In such a situation, there is a possibility that he may have to sit out of the Adelaide Test as well. Therefore, captain Rohit Sharma can be fielded at number three in his place.

When will Gill return to Team India

Many players of Team India who went on Australia tour had to face injuries during practice. Shubman Gill’s injury was so severe that he had to sit out of the first Test. It is difficult to say whether he will be able to play in the second Test or not. But if he returns to Team India, then once again the team management will have to make a big change in the batting order.
