The Indian all-rounder played under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma for Mumbai Indians from 2015 to 2021, after which he was released before the mega auction. Hardik then moved to Gujarat Titans and took over the captaincy in 2022 and the very first season, he played an important role in helping the team win the title.
After this, in 2023 also, Gujarat reached the final under the captaincy of Hardik but could not win the title.
