Rohit Sharma: The second match of the Champions Trophy 2025 is being played between India and Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. But, the Indian bowlers proved this decision of Nazmul Hussain Shanto completely wrong. Mohammed Shami got a wicket in the very first over. After this, there was a flurry of wickets.
Akshar Patel also bowled brilliantly. He took 2 wickets in 1 over. There were chances of a third wicket as well. But, captain Rohit Sharma dropped an easy catch in the slip. Akshar Patel bowled the 9th over against Bangladesh. He dismissed Tanjid Hasan on the second ball of Rohit Sharma. On the third ball, he got Mushfiqur Rahim caught by the keeper. On the fourth ball, all eyes were on Patel’s hat-trick. Akshar Patel had almost completed his hat-trick. But, Rohit Sharma, who was standing as a slip fielder, dropped an easy catch. After which Akshar Patel missed a hat-trick in the ICC tournament.

Taking a hat trick is a big dream for any player. If one gets this big achievement in an ICC tournament, it would be like icing on the cake. But, a mistake by Rohit Sharma dashed Patel’s dreams.
