Team India had to face defeat in a Test series at home for the first time in the 92-year history of Test cricket. New Zealand swept India 3-0 and registered a historic victory. Since this defeat of the Indian team, many players have been the target of criticism. Meanwhile, Team India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has given a big statement on this shameful defeat against the Kiwi team. He has held himself responsible for the defeat in this Test series.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, R Ashwin said,

“I have high expectations from myself. I am a player who says that I am responsible for whatever went wrong. I was a big reason for the defeat in this series. I could not contribute runs in the lower order. As a bowler, I know that runs are very important for a bowler. I got good starts in many places. But I lost it on some occasions. I gave my best , but it was not enough.”

The defeat against New Zealand gave a disappointing experience

R Ashwin expressed his feelings about the experience after this defeat and said,

“We lost 0-3 to New Zealand. I read somewhere that this has never happened in India. In my career and experience so far, I know that we don’t have that much emotion when we play. But it was a very disappointing experience, that’s the right word. For the last two or three days, I haven’t been able to figure out how to react to this . “

R Ashwin ‘s performance in IND vs NZ  Test series

Ashwin’s performance in the 3-match Test series against the Kiwi team was not up to his potential. He took only nine wickets in this series at an average of 41.22 . His best performance was three wickets for 63 runs. While in batting, he could score only 51 runs. Hardly any series would have been like this for him while playing in India.
