R Ashwin: Indian team’s veteran spinner bowler R Ashwin is in the headlines these days due to his retirement. From cricket fans to former players, no one is able to digest his decision. Everyone has many questions in their mind about Ashwin’s sudden retirement.

Was he not happy with the team management, or was he being ignored despite being included in the squad? Fed up with that, he took this big decision. Now Ashwin has shared his big reaction to all these speculations. In which he revealed the big reason for his retirement and also showed the mirror to Rohit and Gambhir.

R Ashwin’s first reaction came after retirement 

During the Test played at Gaba, the umpires were discussing about drawing the match due to rain. On the other hand, R Ashwin suddenly announced his retirement from international cricket. He was seen in a press conference with Rohit Sharma. Where he officially confirmed it. Now Ashwin’s first big reaction has come after retiring. In which he mentioned the big reasons behind his decision. 

 “My time was up, that’s all.”

R Ashwin started his career in the year 2010. His cricketing journey was quite long and successful. But, 39-year-old Ashwin’s body left him. He wanted to play cricket. Perhaps his body did not allow him to do so anymore. Due to which he decided to retire. At the same time, Ashwin broke his silence on this and said, 

“I will play for CSK and don’t be surprised if I try to play for as long as I can. I don’t think Ashwin the cricketer is over, I think Ashwin as an Indian cricketer has probably called it a time now. That’s all.”

Although Ashwin did not name anyone in his statement, but in a subtle way he has shown the mirror to captain Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir, who were constantly moving him in and out of the team. He had been facing such a decision for a long time.

Now Anna will entertain the fans in IPL

After saying goodbye to international cricket, R Ashwin will be seen entertaining the fans in the Indian Premier League. He will be a part of Chennai Super Kings in the 18th season. The franchise has bought Ashwin for Rs 9.75 crore for IPL 2025. He has been a part of this team earlier as well. Fans may not be able to see him playing international cricket. But, he will be seen playing in the IPL.
