The Indian cricket team lost the final of the ODI World Cup on this day (19 November) last year i.e. in 2023. India’s defeat broke the hearts of 140 crore Indian fans. No one could digest India’s loss in the title match against Australia.

In the World Cup, Team India did not lose any match in reaching the final. Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, had won 9 consecutive league matches before reaching the final. Then it won the 10th consecutive match in the form of a semi-final. In the semi-final, Team India defeated New Zealand, which has always been a big challenge for them in ICC tournaments. 

After defeating a team like New Zealand in the semi-finals, it was expected that Team India would easily win the final and win the ODI World Cup title, but this could not happen.

Australia became a time 

In the final, the Australian team proved to be a nightmare for India. In the title match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl and bowled out Team India, who came out to bat first, for 240 runs. During this, most of the batsmen of Team India appeared to be flops.

After a brilliant performance in bowling, Australia showed amazing performance in batting and won the match by scoring 241/4 runs in just 43 overs. During this, Travis Head, who came to open for the team, played a strong innings and scored 137 runs in 120 balls with the help of 15 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from this, Marnus Labuschagne played a well-planned innings and scored 58 runs in 110 balls, which included 4 fours. In this way, Australia, captained by Pat Cummins, won the World Cup title by defeating India on home soil.
