- Mohammed Shami: Returning from injury, Mohammed Shami has staked his claim for the Australian tour by performing brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy match.
Mohammed Shami: Fans were excited for a long time about the return of Team India ‘s star batsman Mohammed Shami . Shami, who has been away from international cricket since the ODI World Cup 2023, has indicated his comeback with a brilliant performance in domestic cricket.
Mohammed Shami is seen in action in the ongoing match between Bengal and Madhya Pradesh in the fourth round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 . On the second day of this match, Shami’s same deadly style was seen for which he is known. By taking wicket after wicket, he has forced the selectors to send him to Australia. He can reach this tour before the Perth Test starts and if he plays in this match, then this bowler’s place will be in danger.
Mohammed Shami broke the back of Madhya Pradesh batsmen
With the current season of Ranji Trophy, Mohammed Shami made a strong comeback after a year. Despite bowling 10 overs on the first day against Madhya Pradesh for Bengal, Shami did not get a single success but on the second day his style seemed to have changed.
On the second day, he sent 4 batsmen to the pavilion. Mohammad Shami bowled a total of 19 overs in which he gave away 54 runs and took 4 wickets along with bowling 4 maiden overs . The special thing was that Shami clean bowled three of these batsmen.
Excellent comeback 💥@MdShami11 bowled an impressive spell of 4/54 on his comeback, playing for Bengal against Madhya Pradesh in the #RanjiTrophy match in Indore 👌👌

Strong comeback after injury
It is worth noting that Mohammed Shami got injured during the World Cup 2023. His injury was so serious that he had to undergo ankle surgery. After this, Shami also tried to make a comeback from domestic cricket but his injury kept recurring. After which the BCCI medical team was monitoring him for a long time . However, he got a chance to play for Bengal in the last phase of Ranji from NCS and by taking wicket after wicket, he has forced the Indian selectors to include him in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Will replace this bowler in Border-Gavaskar Trophy!
Mohammed Shami has proved himself before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia . If he performs well in domestic cricket, he can be sent on the Australia tour. After Jasprit Bumrah, Shami is Team India’s leading fast bowler. He has also wreaked havoc with his bowling against Australia. If he goes on this tour and gets a chance in the playing XI of the Perth Test, he can replace Akash Deep.
