  • Ravindra Jadeja has been continuously failing to prove himself for the last few years, but despite this, he is getting opportunities in Team India. On the other hand, this fierce Indian spinner has once again proved that he is a better player than Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja: India registered a strong 7-wicket win in the first T20I match played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and took a strong 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series. In this match, India’s bowlers performed brilliantly and prevented the English batsmen from scoring big while batting first. Varun Chakraborty, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi all performed brilliantly and bundled out England for 132 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. But in this match, one player again proved why he is better than star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Also, the English batsmen were seen sweating in front of his spin.

wreaked havoc on England

In the first T20I match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bowl first, which his bowlers proved right and bundled out England for 132 runs. In this match, T20I team vice-captain Axar Patel once again proved why he is a better player than Ravindra Jadeja.

Akshar bowled 4 overs against the most dangerous batting team in the shortest format of cricket, in which he took 2 wickets for 22 runs. During this, he also bowled a maiden over. Akshar not only took wickets of England’s batsmen but also made them yearn for every run. England’s team looked helpless in front of this dashing all-rounder.

Is Axar better than Jadeja?

Both Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja have been selected for the Champions Trophy 2025, but questions are arising as to who will be given the first chance in the final starting playing XI. Axar and Jadeja bowl almost in the same way, so only one can be given a chance in the playing XI. If the playing XI is selected on the basis of recent performance, then Axar Patel can win because he is consistently performing brilliantly and on this basis he has been selected in Team India.

Akshar has consistently proved himself on the big stage. He played a brilliant innings of 47 runs in 31 balls in the T20I World Cup final, based on which India scored a big score while batting first. Whereas Jadeja (Ravindra Jadeja) scored just two runs in the final. While Akshar also took a wicket in the final.

36-year-old Ravindra Jadeja did not play a single ODI for India in the year 2024, but in 2023 he represented India in 26 matches, in which he scored 309 runs at an average of 30.90 and a strike rate of 75. While he took 31 wickets in the same number of matches. At the same time, Akshar Patel played 3 ODIs for India in 2024, in which he scored 79 runs, while during this time he took 4 wickets. The special thing is that Akshar has conceded runs at an economy of 3.86.
