Jasprit Bumrah: The Indian team is going to start the Champions Trophy today i.e. on 20 February with a match with Bangladesh. Team India’s dashing bowler Jasprit Bumrah could not be a part of the Champions Trophy 2025 due to his injury. But his fear is still visible in the opposing team. A video of Bangladesh all-rounder Mahedi Hasan has gone viral, in which during a conversation with Sanjana Ganesan, the bowler’s wife, he says something about Jasprit Bumrah which even Indian fans will not be able to believe.
Mehdi Hasan happy with Bumrah’s absence
Jasprit Bumrah is not a part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. But his wife Sanjana Ganesan is a presenter of ICC, who is currently in Dubai. Sanjana Ganesan, being a presenter, was doing interviews before the match. But during this time, Bangladesh all-rounder Mehdi Hasan talks to her about Bumrah. Mehdi Hasan says that,
‘Bumrah is a very different bowler and the most dangerous’. Hearing the praise of Bumrah, Sanjana says that ‘yes he is very different but he is not coming here’.
To which Mehdi Hasan says, ‘I know. We are very happy that he (Jasprit Bumrah) is not here. Very happy…’. After which everyone present starts laughing. However, then Mehdi Hasan asks about Bumrah’s well-being and says, ‘How is Bumrah now, is he okay?’ To which Sanjana tells him, ‘He is fine. He has started training at NCA’.
Although Mehdi Hasan did not directly say that he is injured, it is good for us. But, by taking a sigh of relief at his injury, he expressed that he is very happy with Bumrab not coming to Champions Trophy 2025 and the pressure on his team has also been reduced.
What did the Bangladesh captain say about Bumrah?
After this conversation, Mehdi Hasan says ‘All the batsmen here respect him (Jasprit Bumrah) a lot. Every batsman respects him. He got me out twice in the Kanpur Test. He swings the ball from both sides. Before Mehdi Hasan, Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto, while talking about Bumrah in the press conference, said that India will play without their fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was ruled out due to a lower back injury. However, Shanto also said that he is not thinking about Bumrah or any other individual player.
Let us tell you, Bumrah himself had informed us that he has started rehab. Bumrah had shared a picture of himself on Instagram, in which he was at the National Cricket Academy. Talking about Bangladesh vs India match, both the teams have come face to face only once in the Champions Trophy. Bangladesh was defeated by India.
