The Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is very important for India and Australia to make it to the ICC World Test Championship Final 2025. The team that loses in this series may lose its dream of playing the WTC Final. Meanwhile, during the match played at the Perth Cricket Stadium, the Australian team was seen doing injustice to Indian batsman KL Rahul, due to which there is now a stir on social media. Actually, what happened was that in the 23rd over of India’s innings, Mitchell Starc came to bowl on behalf of the Kangaroo team.

Australia accused of dishonesty

Mitchell Starc faced KL Rahul on the second ball of the over. The batsman (KL Rahul) tried to defend the fast outswing ball bowled by him on good length. After this, the ball went close to the bat and went into the hands of wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

Due to this, the Kangaroo team appealed for catch out, in which the umpire showed no interest. In such a situation, Australia team captain Pat Cummins turned to review. Then the third umpire checked in Ultra Edge and there was some movement in it, due to which he declared KL Rahul out and he returned to the pavilion.

There was uproar on social media

Even though there was movement in the Ultra Edge during the review, when the replay was shown, the ball was not seen touching the bat. At that time it seemed that the bat had hit the batsman’s pad. Despite this, the third umpire did not see the review from any other angle. Due to this, cricket fans including Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaspreet Sapru present in the commentary box accused Australia of dishonesty. KL Rahul scored 26 runs off 74 balls in his aggressive innings.
