Last Saturday, Karnataka faced Arunachal Pradesh, where Mayank Agarwal played a stormy unbeaten century. Due to this, his team managed to win the match by ten wickets.

On 28 December, a match was played between Arunachal Pradesh and Karnataka at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium Ground ‘A’ in Ahmedabad. Captain Mayank Agarwal won the toss and asked the Arunachal Pradesh team to bat first. Based on Abhinav Singh’s half-century innings, the team set a target of 167 runs. In response, the Karnataka team achieved the given target in just 14.2 overs. Based on the explosive innings of Abhinav Manohar and Mayank Agrawal, the team managed to win this match. 

Rain of sixes and fours 

Mayank Agrawal started hitting runs, sixes, and fours as soon as he opened the innings. He scored runs while batting at a strike rate of 222.22 and helped the team win. Meanwhile, he shared an unbeaten partnership of 171 runs for the first wicket with fellow opener Abhinav Manohar. Mayank Agarwal scored a hundred runs in 45 balls. During this, seven fours and seven sixes came off his bat. On the other hand, if we talk about Abhinav Manohar, played a half-century innings of 66 runs in 41 balls. 

Record registered in the name of Mayank Agarwal 

Mayank Agarwal has created history in the Vijay Hazare Trophy by scoring a century in just 45 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. He has become the fifth batsman to score the fastest century in the tournament. Before him, Anmolpreet Singh (40 balls), Yusuf Pathan (40 balls), Urvil Patel (41 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (42 balls) had done this feat.

Let us tell you that in this brilliant innings, Mayank Agarwal played only six dot balls. He scored runs on all other balls. Along with this, let us tell you that Mayank Agarwal could not find any buyer in the IPL 2025 mega auction held in November, due to which he will not be able to be a part of the upcoming season.
