The fifth and last match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 was played between India and Australia in Sydney. Team India, who came to bat first after winning the toss, had to face defeat by six wickets in this match. With this, their dream of playing the World Test Championship final was also shattered. In this match, which ended within three days, the Indian players could only set a target of 162 runs, which Australia achieved in 27 overs.

After Australia won the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Irfan Pathan shared such a post on social media, which stunned everyone. He shared a video of the Kangaroo team’s celebration on his official X (earlier Twitter) account and wrote on it, “Australia was better than us in every respect. Congratulations.” Indian fans are also reacting a lot to his tweet. While Pakistani fans were seen making fun of Team India. 

Sunil Gavaskar also got angry 

It is worth noting that before the Sydney Test started, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar had advised the Team India management to organize a practice match. But they ignored it. Now, after India lost this match while talking on this matter with Irfan Pathan in the post-match show of Star Sports, he said, “Hey, we don’t know anything. We don’t know cricket. We are just there to speak on TV. Don’t listen to us. Let it go over your head.” Apart from these, former Australian opener Justin Langer has also reprimanded the Indian players for their performance.
