  • The havoc of Chennai Super Kings’ 43-year-old wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) was once again seen in IPL 2025. Dhoni sent Phil Salt to the pavilion by stumping at lightning speed

MS Dhoni: The 8th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 is currently being played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, the magic of 43-year-old MS Dhoni’s gloves was again seen. MS Dhoni, standing alert behind the wicket, made a significant contribution to CSK’s first success by stumping with lightning speed. Dhoni stumped RCB’s dangerous opener Phil Salt on the ball of Noor Ahmed and sent him to the pavilion, the video of which is now going viral on social media.

Salt marbles scattered in 0.10 seconds

Former Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s agility is intact even at the age of 43. He is still as fast behind the wicket as he used to be earlier.

He has given an example of this twice in this league. This time, RCB opener Phil Salt became the victim of Dhoni’s speedy stumping. Salt tries to play a big shot over the cover on the last ball of Noor Ahmed who came to bowl the fifth over of the innings, but he failed in it and the ball went straight into MS Dhoni’s gloves, by the time Salt brought his foot inside the crease, Dhoni scattered his stumps. It is estimated that this time, Dhoni must have done this stumping within 0.10 seconds.

Dhoni ended Salt’s innings

In this match, Salt was playing big shots from the beginning and was taking his team towards a big score in the power play. Salt had scored a total of 32 runs in 16 balls before getting out, which included five fours and a towering six.

He was also looking for a boundary in Noor’s over, but he missed while trying to hit the ball towards cover, and by the time Salt got his foot inside the crease, Dhoni (MS Dhoni) stumped him out.

Initially it seemed that Salt had entered the crease easily, but in the replay it was clearly seen that a part of Salt’s foot was outside the crease before being stumped, after which the third umpire declared him out and in this way, due to Dhoni’s agility, Chennai got its first success in this match.

Surya was also made a victim

Earlier, against Mumbai Indians, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) had similarly dismissed Suryakumar Yadav on the ball of Noor Ahmed. In that match, Dhoni dismissed Suryakumar Yadav within 0.12 seconds. In that match, Suryakumar could have proved to be very dangerous for CSK, but before that, Dhoni had ended his innings by stumping him at lightning speed.

Now, once again, he has repeated the same feat against RCB, after which it will be interesting to see how much this stumping benefits Chennai Super Kings.
