IND vs NZ: The 3 match test series between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) 
will start from October 16. The first match of this series will be played at the Bengaluru ground. The Kiwi team recently faced a 2-0 clean sweep at the hands of Sri Lanka. While India defeated Bangladesh 2-0. Meanwhile, New Zealand has suffered a major setback. The team’s former captain and most experienced batsman may have to be ruled out of the first test due to injury. 

New Zealand suffered a big setback

Kane Williamson is currently battling a groin injury. Due to which he is expected to reach India late. If he is not able to recover from the injury soon, he may have to be out of the first Test match to be played in Bengaluru. New Zealand Cricket has issued a press release regarding this. In which they have told that Kane Williamson had some trouble while playing against Sri Lanka. Therefore, he will have to undergo rehabilitation before going to India. Only after this, any update will be available regarding his joining the team.

Mark Chapman will replace Kane Williamson and join the team as his cover. Although he has not played any Test match for his team yet, he is an important player for the Kiwi team in ODIs and T20s. Apart from this, his first class record has also been excellent. New Zealand Cricket selector Sam Wells said about his selection – ” We believe that Mark Chapman is one of our best spin players and he has a good track record in the Indian subcontinent.”

Team India will announce the squad soon

The New Zealand team has announced its squad for this series. This time Tom Latham has been made the captain of the team. On the other hand, India has not yet announced its players against New Zealand. It is expected that India can announce its squad soon.
