Teams of India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) will face each other in a 3-match Test series from October 16. A tough competition can be seen between the two teams in this series. Before that, the New Zealand Cricket Board has announced a 17-member team for this Test series against India. At the same time, New Zealand selector Sam Wells, former captain, will not be available for the first Test. Let us know in detail which players have been selected in the Kiwi squad. 

Tom Latham will captain in IND vs NZ Test series

The New Zealand team is to tour India this month. During this time, a 3-match Test series will be played between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ). The first match of the series will be played in Bangalore on 16 October. Before that, New Zealand has announced its 17-member squad for the Test series. The captaincy of this team has been handed over to Tom Latham.

On the last tour, New Zealand had to face defeat under the captaincy of Tim Southee. Due to which Southee had announced to leave the captaincy. Apart from this, one KKR (Tim Southee) and 2 CSK (Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell) players have also got a place in the squad.

Kane Williamson will not be available for the first Test

Before the start of the Test series, good news is not coming from the New Zealand team. The Kiwi team has suffered a major setback. Former captain Kane Williamson will not be available for the first Test. He had some groin problem against Sri Lanka on the last tour. Due to which he will reach India late. If reports are to be believed, he will be able to join the Test series only after completing the rehab process.

Michael Bracewell will be available only for the first Test 

All-rounder Michael Bracewell has also been selected for this Test series. But, this is not good news for New Zealand. Because Michael Bracewell will return home only after playing the first Test. If reports are to be believed, he is going to become the father of his second child. He wants to stay with his family in this difficult time and will not be able to be a part of the remaining 2 Test matches.  

Mark Chapman got a place in the squad 

Mark Chapman has also been selected as an uncapped player for this Test series against India. Chapman has made his debut in ODIs and T20s for New Zealand. But, he is yet to make his Test debut. He has been selected as a cover for Kane Williamson. Mark Chapman has a good record in first class cricket. He has scored 2954 runs in 77 innings of 44 matches at an average of 42.81. This includes 6 centuries.
