The first match between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) is starting from Wednesday i.e. 16 October. Both have reached Bengaluru for this test. But, the news is that star batsman Shubman Gill may be out of the first test. According to the report, Gill will not be able to participate in the first test against New Zealand due to stiffness in the neck. But, the doctor’s team is trying their best to make him fit. At present, no confirmation has been made by the BCCI. If sources are to be believed, a decision will be taken tomorrow regarding Shubman’s availability whether his health has improved or not.

Shubman Gill opens for India. But, due to Yashasvi Jaiswal, he has been demoted to the middle order. In the absence of Cheteshwar Pujara in Tests, Shubman Gill is being sent to bat at number-3. He has scored 782 runs in 21 innings of 12 matches at this position from the year 2021 to the year 2024 at an average of 43.44, during this time 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries were also seen from his bat.
Sarfaraz Khan or Dhruv Jurel may get a place
If Shubman Gill is not fully fit for the first Test against New Zealand, then captain Rohit Sharma can include either Sarfaraz Khan or Dhruv Jurel in the playing eleven in his place in the middle order. Both the players have the ability to bat brilliantly like Gill in Tests. He had batted brilliantly in his debut series against England.
