Rohit Sharma:

Under the captaincy of
Rohit Sharma , Team
India
won the title of  T20 World Cup 2024. In this World Cup,
Rishabh Pant
made a comeback after a car accident and he was part of the playing 11 as a wicketkeeper in the entire World Cup. Apart from him, Sanju Samson was included in the team as a backup wicketkeeper. However, he did not get a chance to play a single match of the World Cup. Now Sanju Samson has made a big revelation regarding this.

Sanju Samson
was about to play the final match

Team India won the title by defeating South Africa in the final match of the T20 World Cup. Sanju Samson could also have been a part of the playing 11 in this final match, but his name was not considered just a few minutes before the toss. Sanju revealed this while talking to a YouTube channel and said-

” It was the morning of the final. I had a chance of playing in the match. I was told to be ready. I was all set to play the final. But before the toss it was decided that there would be no changes in the playing eleven.”

‘ I regret not playing the final under Rohit Sharma ‘s captaincy ‘

Continuing his talk, Sanju further said,

” When this came to light, I was a little disappointed but I thought, it’s okay, this happens…then during the warm-up, Rohit bhai came to me and talked to me. Rohit bhai explained to me why he had taken such a decision. He explained to me in his own way… I told him again that yes, I understand…you go and play the match. We will talk about this again after winning the match. But he came again.

He told me ,  you are talking a lot about me in your mind , I feel that you are not happy. After this, I had a short conversation with Rohit Bhai. I felt a little sad that I could not play the final under Rohit Bhai’s captaincy. One thing I liked was that Rohit Bhai talked to me before the toss in a big match like the final. At that time I came to know that this guy has something different to say.”

Let us tell you that Team India won the T20 World Cup 17 years ago by defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the final match. Earlier, India had won this trophy in 2007 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Rohit Sharma was a member of that team then.
