  • The 12th match of the Champions Trophy was played between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ). New Zealand won the toss and invited India to bat first. India scored 249 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Whereas this Kiwi team was restricted to 205 runs only.

IND vs NZ: In the 12th match of the Champions Trophy 2025 (ICC Champions Trophy, 2025), India lost the toss and got to bat first. Batting first, India scored 249 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Shreyas Iyer played the highest innings of 79 runs. At the same time, New Zealand got a target of 250 runs to win. Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and stopped the Kiwi team at 205 runs. Due to this India won this match by 44 runs. This is India’s third consecutive win in this tournament.

IND vs NZ: India achieved a hat-trick of victories

In the Champions Trophy 2025, India and New Zealand faced each other after 24 years. Earlier, both the teams were seen playing together in the year 2000. Like that match, a good fight was seen between the two teams in this match as well. New Zealand got a target of 250 runs to win. But, the Indian bowlers kept the Kiwi batsmen under control. They did not let them score runs by bowling tight.

 But, Kane Williamson appeared in good form. He showed great batting with intelligence. He played an innings of 81 runs in 120 balls. But, in the end, he could not make the team win. Apart from him, no Kiwi batsman could score runs against India. Due to this the New Zealand team could score only 205 runs and India easily won this match by 44 runs. This is India’s third consecutive win in this tournament. Now India will face Australia in the semi-finals.

Shreyas Iyer took charge of the team in difficult times 

Shreyas Iyer impressed a lot with his batting against New Zealand. While 3 players of Team India, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill got out cheaply on the score of 30 runs. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer showed a lot of wisdom while batting in the middle order. He took some time to settle on the pitch. But, he played a good innings under pressure. Iyer scored 79 runs in 98 balls. During this, 4 fours and 2 sixes were also seen from his bat. Due to this innings of Iyer, Team India was able to reach a respectable score.

Top order disappointed once again 

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill came to open the innings for India. Both the players could not give India a good start in this match. Shubman Gill got out cheaply after scoring 2 runs on the team’s score of 15 runs. At the same time, Virat Kohli was caught out after scoring 15 runs in the 5th over while trying to hit over midwicket. At the same time, Virat Kohli also could not leave any mark in his 300th match and went out after scoring 15 runs in 14 balls. However, Axar Patel made an important contribution of 42 runs. At the end, Hardik Pandya gave a good finishing touch to the match. He scored 45 runs while batting aggressively.

Varun Chakraborty showed the magic of spin 

Varun Chakravarthy was selected for the Champions Trophy 2025 based on his excellent performance. He got a chance in the third match against New Zealand under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. In this match, Chakravarthy troubled the Kiwi bowlers a lot by showing his spin magic. He took 4 wickets for 40 runs in 10 overs. Gautam Gambhir used Varun Chakravarthy as a trump card in this match, he played an important role in Team India’s victory by dismissing half of New Zealand’s team. While Kuldeep (2) and Jadeja (1) also bowled tight. While Hardik-Axar also got 1-1 wickets each.
