In a do-or-die match for Afghanistan, Ibrahim scored a half-century in 65 balls. After this, he scored a century in 106 balls and took Afghanistan past 200. 

After completing the century, Ibrahim started playing shots from his quiver and started scoring runs quickly. Ibrahim (Ibrahim Zadran) took only 28 balls to complete the next fifty runs i.e. to reach from 100 to 150 runs. Whereas he had to face 11 balls to reach from 150 to 177 runs. In this match, Ibrahim played a stormy innings of 177 runs in 146 balls, in which he hit 6 skyscraper sixes along with 12 fours, based on which Afghanistan, batting first, scored 325 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Ibrahim was adjudged the player of the match

Ibrahim Zadran, who came to open the Afghanistan innings, stood firmly on the field for 49 overs. He was answering every bowler of England with courage. With the help of Zadran’s brilliant innings of 177 runs, Afghanistan was able to cross the 320 mark while batting first, which was considered a very good score to win on this ground. However, Joe Root also tried his best to win the match from England’s side, but after Root was out with a score of 120, the match was completely out of England’s hands.

Although England’s tail-enders had raised some hopes of a comeback in the match, they failed to cross Afghanistan’s score of 325 and lost the match by 8 runs. Ibrahim Zadran was awarded the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings of 177 runs.
