Suryakumar Yadav is leading Team India in the T20 format. A 3-match T20 series was played against Bangladesh under his captaincy. India won this series 3-0. This is the second consecutive victory under his captaincy. Earlier, India had a clean sweep against Sri Lanka. At the same time, Indian captain Suryakumar gave his team the mantra of victory after the match. Let us know what message the captain gave to the players after winning the series against Bangladesh?

We have to play fearlessly- Suryakumar Yadav

Team India has played well so far under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav. He has shown a good bond with the players. Surya has given the players the freedom to play freely under his leadership. He mentioned this during the conversation after the match and said,

”We have achieved a lot as a team. I want to include selfless cricketers in my team. We want to be a selfless team. As Hardik said, we want to enjoy each other’s performance on and off the field, spend as much time as possible and this camaraderie remains on the field as well and we enjoy it. The conversation about the team has been something like this, Gauti bhai also said the same at the beginning of the series and even when we went to Sri Lanka, no one is bigger than the team.”

“You should play for the team, not for yourself”

Sooraj Samson scored the first century of his T20 career against Bangladesh. After watching his batting, it seemed that he came from the dressing room already set. Because, he started hitting from the first ball itself and scored a century in just 40 balls. When he was close to the century, he did not deal in singles and doubles but in fours and sixes. Praising his fearlessness, the captain said,

“If you are on 99 or 49 or any score, if you feel you have to hit the ball out of the park for the team, you have to hit it and that is what Sanju did and I am really happy for him. We have to be very flexible. Everyone has to contribute. The way he showed in this series was commendable. To improve, just maintain good habits, continue them on the field as well and just keep being like that.”
