There is little time left for the start of the Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament will be organized in February-March next year. But before that, the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya seems to be in trouble. It is being speculated that he may announce his retirement before the Champions Trophy. However, here we are not talking about T20 or ODI but Test. In fact, for the last several years, he has not participated in unlimited overs cricket, due to which it is now expected that he can officially say goodbye to Test cricket.

This player is a contender for Hardik Pandya’s place

Hardik Pandya played his last Test match in the year 2018. But keeping his fitness in mind, he distanced himself from this format and focused his entire attention on ODIs and T20s. Since then the Indian team management was looking for his replacement, which now seems to be ending. In the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 being played in Australia before the Champions Trophy 2025, young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has staked a claim for Hardik Pandya’s place by performing well with bat and ball. This player has been seen making a splash against the Kangaroo team.

Created a blast against the kangaroos

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who made his Test debut on Australian soil, was impressive as an all-rounder. After experienced players like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma flopped, he caught everyone’s attention with his fiery batting. Apart from this, whenever he got a chance to bowl, he got wickets for the team under pressure. Because of this, Nitish Kumar Reddy is being seen as a replacement for Hardik Pandya in Test cricket. If we talk about the first class cricket career of the young player, he has 858 runs and 57 wickets in 24 matches.
