After India lost the New Zealand Test series, many questions are being raised on Gautam Gambhir . In this series, he took some such decisions, due to which the team had to face defeat. Therefore, BCCI is not happy with these strategies of Gautam Gambhir. A BCCI source said on the condition of anonymity,

“Gautam Gambhir was given authority that his predecessors Ravi Shastri and Rahul Dravid did not have. BCCI rules do not allow the coach to be a part of the selection committee meetings, but there was an exception for the selection meeting of the Australia tour. The head coach was allowed to attend it considering the importance of the tour.”
