Rituraj Gaikwad is known for his stormy batting. He has proved this right once again. Every player dreams of scoring a double century in the ODI format. At the same time, Gaikwad scored 220 runs in just so many balls with the help of 10 fours and 16 sixes.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been one of the most successful captains of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He led the franchise to win the IPL title not once but five times under his captaincy. After he left the captaincy, Ruturaj Gaikwad was made the new captain of CSK. The team will enter the field in the 18th season under his captaincy. 

Before the start of the season, an innings of Rituraj Gaikwad was in the headlines when he played against UP in the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the year 2022. His innings are remembered even today. Because he created history in the ODI format. Rituraj Gaikwad faced only 159 balls. In which he batted explosively and scored 220 runs with the help of 10 fours and 16 sixes.

Maharashtra defeated UP by 58 runs in a crucial match 

Vijay Hazare’s quarter-final-2 was played between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh at the historic ground Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Under the captaincy of Rituraj Gaikwad, Maharashtra batted first and scored 330 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. In which the CSK captain, who came to open the innings, played a stormy innings of 220 runs and laid the foundation of victory.

While chasing this huge target, UP gave a tough fight. Aryan Juyal’s 159 runs innings was seen from his bat. But, he could not make his team win. UP’s team could score only 271 runs and Maharashtra won this match by 58 runs.
