Champions Trophy 2025:

The bugle for Champions Trophy 2025 has been blown. Only a few days are left for the start of this ICC tournament. Before that, the eyes of cricket lovers are fixed on the decision of BCCI as to which players they include in the 15-member squad. The board will have to submit the list of the Indian squad to the ICC before January 12. While changes can be made in the squad till January 13.

In such a situation, BCCI will also announce its team on or before 12 January. This is certain. 3 players can be selected in this tournament under any circumstances. But, after the Champions Trophy, these players will not be able to be a part of this tournament in the future. Let’s know about those 3 Indian cricketers…

1. Rohit Sharma

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is being targeted by fans due to his poor batting. He scored only 31 runs in 6 innings of 3 matches during the BGT in Australia, due to which he was dropped from the Sydney Test. But, India has to participate in the Champions Trophy under Rohit’s captaincy.

After this tournament, Rohit Sharma will not be able to be a part of the upcoming Champions Trophy. Because, the Indian captain is going to be 38 years old, while the next edition of the Champions Trophy will be played after 4 years i.e. in the year 2029, by then Hitman will be 42 years old. But, after seeing his fitness and batting, it is speculated that he will not be able to stay in the team for that long.

2. Ravindra Jadeja

Indian team’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has said goodbye to the T20 format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title in June this year. Because runs were not coming from the bat. Questions were constantly being raised about his inclusion in the team based on bowling. At the same time, this condition has started applying to him in ODIs and Tests.

However, Jadeja can be selected for the Champions Trophy this year. It seems difficult for 36-year-old Jaddu to play in the Champions Trophy to be played in the year 2029. Because India has got Akshar Patel as a spin all-rounder and Nitish Kumar Reddy as a fast bowler all-rounder. In such a situation, Ravindra Jadeja does not seem to have a place in the team.

3. KL Rahul

The last name in this list is KL Rahul. He may be selected for the Champions Trophy 2025 to be played on a hybrid model in February this year. But, in the future, BCCI may close the doors for KL Rahul. Because his bat looks silent in white ball cricket. His flop show was seen against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Whereas India has a lot of young players like Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, and Devdutt Padikkal in the middle order. Who is not getting a place in the team due to senior player KL Rahul being in the team? In such a situation, this Champions Trophy may prove to be the last for KL Rahul.
