Border-Gavaskar Trophy: In the next 48 hours, i.e. on November 22, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be announced. For cricket fans, this series is no less than a World Cup. Because Team India’s entry into the final of the World Test Championship depends on this series. The first 2 Tests are going to be the most difficult for India. Because there is doubt over the playing of Indian batting mainstays Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Meanwhile, there is also news that after 2 Tests, BCCI may send a new team for the last 3 Tests. In which many big changes can happen.

The team may change in the last 3 Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

First of all, let’s talk about batting because this aspect is currently the weak link for Team India. The 3-0 result was seen in the home Test series against New Zealand due to the failure of the batsmen. Now if the batsmen fail in the first 2 Test matches against Australia too, then BCCI can remember veteran Cheteshwar Pujara.

Anyway, 36-year-old Pujara is no less than a nightmare for the Kangaroos. Last time in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the highest number of runs came from his bat. He has scored 993 runs in 21 innings of 11 matches in Australia at an average of 47.

Will Hardik get a chance?

The next change can be in the form of an all-rounder. Currently, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been selected for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, who brings the option of batting as well as bowling. The news is that he can also be made to debut in the Perth Test. Therefore, Reddy, who has experience of only 3 T20 matches, will be seen giving the test directly in Perth.

In such a situation, if he does not live up to the expectations or the result does not go in Team India’s favor, then the management can call Hardik Pandya, who played his last Test in 2018. This has happened before in the history of cricket, where a player has been called back for just 1 series.

Mohammed Shami’s return is confirmed!

Mohammed Shami can also join the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the last 3 Test matches. This fast bowler, who played his last international match in the World Cup 2023, had to stay away from cricket for almost 12 months due to injury. But Shami made a comeback in the Ranji Trophy and took 4 wickets in 1 innings. Currently, the BCCI has asked him to play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to further prove his fitness. If everything goes well, Shami can also be in Australia.

India’s probable team for the last 3 Tests of Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Dhruv Jurel, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Harshit Rana, Akashdeep.
