Border Gavaskar Trophy Rohit-Gill return
Indian captain Rohit Sharma could not be a part of the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 played in Perth due to personal reasons. However, now due to his return to the team, Jasprit Bumrah has had to step down from the captaincy and he will be seen playing the role of vice-captain in the last four matches.
Apart from this, young batsman Shubman Gill had to be dropped from the team due to injury. In his absence, Devdutt Padikkal was given a place in the team. But now the return of Shubman Gill has removed him from the team.
These batsmen got a chance
If we talk about the batting order of the Indian team, then apart from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel have got a place in it. In the first match, Abhimanyu Easwaran had to warm the bench. He can also be seen giving water to the players in the remaining four matches. Apart from this, Dhruv Jurel, who was a part of the Perth Test, will also have to be out of the playing eleven after Rohit Sharma’s return. Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna and Ravichandran Ashwin have been selected as all-rounders.

Harshit Rana, Jaspreet Bumrah, Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj have got a chance as fast bowlers in the team India selected by the Indian selectors for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. There is the option of Ravichandran Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja for spin bowling. Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini and Khalil Ahmed have been selected for the reserve team.
