But he failed to convert it into a century as he lost his wicket to Nathan Lyon. By the time the match ended early due to rain, India had scored 358 runs at the loss of nine wickets. 

How was the performance of other batsmen?

Talking about the performance of other batsmen of Team India (IND vs AUS), Yashasvi Jaiswal performed brilliantly while opening and scored 82 runs in 118 balls. But before the end of the second day, he was run out by Pat Cummins. His wicket-falling proved to be a turning point for the Indian team. However, during this time he had a partnership of 43 runs with KL Rahul and 102 runs with Virat Kohli. Both these batsmen returned to the pavilion after scoring 24 runs and 36 runs respectively. 3 runs came off Rohit Sharma’s bat. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep could not even open the account.
