Which Gautam Gambhir has also agreed.

Gambhir is also happy with Hardik becoming the captain

Head coach Gautam Gambhir can support Hardik Pandya after Rohit Sharma left the captaincy. He was also in favor of making Hardik the vice-captain instead of Shubman Gill in the Champions Trophy 2025. Media reports claimed that Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir was against the decision of captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar to make Shubman Gill the captain before the squad announcement of the Champions Trophy. But the chief selector ignored the head coach’s words and made Shubman Gill the vice-captain. Gautam Gambhir will also be in favor of making Hardik the captain.

Hardik has captaincy experience

All-rounder player Hardik Pandya has pulled Team India out of difficult situations in many tough matches. 31-year-old Hardik also has good experience of captaincy. He has made the Gujarat Titans champion in IPL. Hardik has captained 16 T-20 matches. In which he has won 10 and lost 5. While the result of one match has not come out. At the same time, Hardik has captained 3 matches in ODI. In which he has won two and lost one. Also, the team captained by Hardik has won 26 out of 45 matches in IPL.
