AFG vs Uganda Innings Highlights:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran gave Afghanistan a great start by batting first against Uganda. Both of them shared a 154-run partnership in 88 balls for the first wicket. But then the team lost wickets in quick succession.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz played the biggest innings for the team and scored 76 runs in 45 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Apart from this, Ibrahim Zadran scored 70 runs in 46 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six. Afghanistan scored 183 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In the last 6 overs, Afghanistan batsmen could not hit any boundary. 

The 5th match of T20 World Cup 2024 is being played between Afghanistan and Uganda. In the match, Uganda won the toss and decided to bowl. Afghanistan, who came to bat first, got a great start from openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran.

But after the first wicket partnership was broken, Afghanistan went on the backfoot. For about 14 overs, it seemed that Afghanistan would easily cross the 200-run mark, but it could not happen. 

Uganda captain Masaba started getting wickets and gave the first blow to Afghanistan in the form of Zadran. From here Afghanistan could not make a comeback and the team’s runs were completely curbed.

Apart from the openers, no other batsman could hit a boundary for Afghanistan. In the last 6 overs, Uganda’s bowlers made a strong comeback

Batting first, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran put on 154 (88 balls) for the first wicket. This partnership ended with the wicket of Zadran on the third ball of the 15th over, who scored 70 runs. After this, the team suffered another blow in the form of Gurbaz, who returned to the pavilion after scoring 76 runs on the first ball of the 16th over. 

After this, the team’s wicket-fall continued and the team lost its third wicket in the form of Najibullah Zadran on the second ball of the 17th over, who returned to the pavilion after scoring just 02 runs. Then the team lost its fourth wicket in the form of Gulbadin Naib on the fifth ball of the 18th over, who could score just 04 runs.

Then the team lost its fifth wicket in the form of Azamtullah Umarzai on the fifth ball of the 20th over. Umarzai could score just 05 runs. In the end, Mohammad Nabi remained unbeaten for Afghanistan by scoring 14 runs in 16 balls and Rashid Khan remained unbeaten by scoring 2 runs in 1 ball.

For Uganda, Cosmas Qewuta and captain Brian Masaba took 2-2 wickets. Qewuta gave away 25 runs in 4 overs. Apart from this, Masaba gave away only 21 runs in 4 overs. Alpesh Ramzani got 1 success. Ramzani gave away 33 runs in 4 overs.

AFG vs Uganda Match Highlights:

Afghanistan defeated Uganda by 125 runs in the 5th match of T20 World Cup 2024. This was a big win for Afghanistan. In the match, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran did wonders in batting for Afghanistan and then in bowling, Fazal Haq Farooqui broke the back of Uganda’s batting line up by taking 5 wickets. While chasing the target, Uganda was all out for just 58 runs. 

In the match played at Providence Stadium in Guyana, Uganda won the toss and decided to bowl, which did not prove to be good for them at all. Afghanistan, who were invited to bat first, scored 183/5 runs in 20 overs. For the team, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran gave the team a good start by sharing 154 (88 balls) runs for the first wicket. However, after this the Ugandan bowlers made a comeback, but by then it was too late. 

Uganda’s bowlers, who had conceded a lot of runs for 14 overs, made a great comeback in the last 6 overs and pushed Afghanistan on the backfoot. In these 6 overs, Afghanistan’s batsmen could not hit a single boundary. But Uganda’s batsmen could not give much support to the team. While chasing the target of 184 runs, Uganda was all out for 58 runs in 16 overs. Robinson Obuya played the biggest innings for the team and scored 14 runs with the help of 1 six.

Out of 11 Ugandan batsmen, only 2 could reach the double digit mark. The team started losing wickets from the very first over. The team suffered two early blows in the very first over when Fazalhaq Farooqi dismissed Raunak Patel (04) and Roger Mukasa (00) on two consecutive balls. 

Then the team lost its third wicket in the form of Simon Sesazi (04) in the second over. After this, the team lost its fourth wicket in the form of Dinesh Nakrani (06) in the 5th over. Then in the same over, the team suffered its fifth blow in the form of Alpesh Ramzani, who returned to the pavilion without opening his account.

Later, the team lost their sixth wicket of Riazat Ali (11) in the 13th over, seventh of captain Brian Masaba (00) off the very next ball, eighth of Robinson Obuya (14), ninth of Bilal Hasan (08) in the 16th over and the tenth of Henry Sensendo (00) off the last ball of the same over. 

Afghan bowlers did wonders 

Fazal Haq Farooqi took the maximum 5 wickets for Afghanistan. During this he spent only 09 runs in 4 overs. After this Naveen Ul Haq and captain Rashid Khan got 2-2 wickets. Naveen gave 04 runs in 2 overs and Rashid gave 12 runs in 4 overs. The remaining one wicket went to Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Mujeeb spent 16 runs in 3 overs.
