Suryakumar Yadav says that he is not at all disappointed for not getting a chance in Team India for the Champions Trophy. Because if he had performed well in the ODI format, he would have made it. Suryakumar Yadav said about the situation in ODIs,

“Why should I be disappointed in this? If I perform well (in ODIs) I will get a place in the team. If I don’t perform well it won’t happen. There is no harm in accepting this. Apart from this, if you look at the team selected for the Champions Trophy, it is fantastic. This team has good performing players and I am very happy for them.”

Speaking further, Suryakumar also said, “I regret not being able to perform well in this format. If I had performed well, I would have been in that team, the player who has performed well deserves this place.”

Surya has disappointed in ODIs

It is worth noting that Suryakumar Yadav is considered one of the most explosive batsmen in the current T20 format. Surya can play big shots all around the field with ease. However, he has failed to continue the success of the T20 format in ODIs. In ODI cricket, he has scored 773 runs in 37 matches at an average of 25.76. One of the reasons for India’s defeat in the ODI World Cup was also the weak lower order.
