The second day of the Boxing Day Test was played in Melbourne on 27 December, in which Indian players came out to play with black bands on their hands. Before the day’s play started, Team India received bad news from Australia.
The former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh has passed away. He has said goodbye to the world at the age of 92. In such a situation, to pay tribute to him, the Indian team is seen wearing black bands on their arms in the Melbourne Test.

On Thursday, Dr. Manmohan Singh was admitted to the emergency ward of AIIMS in a critical condition at around 8:30 pm. Talking about his condition in a bulletin, AIIMS said that he suddenly fainted at his home, after which he was treated. They informed me that,
“He was undergoing age-related medical treatment and suddenly fainted at home. Immediate efforts were made to revive him at home. He was brought to Delhi AIIMS at 8.06 pm. Despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 9.51 pm.”

Talking about the Boxing Day Test match going on in Melbourne, after winning the toss, Pat Cummins decided to bat first, after which Australia’s first innings was reduced to 474 runs. During this, Sam Constas (60), Usman Khawaja (57), and Marnus Labuschagne (72) scored half-centuries. While Steve Summitt scored a century of 140 runs. In response, the Indian team (Team India) did not have a good start. Till the tea break on the second day, the team was able to score only 51 runs at the loss of 2 wickets.
