The Indian team, which went on a tour of Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, performed brilliantly and won the first Test match (IND vs AUS). The first match was played between the two teams in Perth, in which India won by 295 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

At the same time, now both the teams are ready to play a day-night Test match in Adelaide from December 6. The first ball of the match will be bowled at 9.30 am Indian time. However, before this the captains of both the teams were called to the field. When the coin of the toss was tossed, it fell in favor of India, after which captain Rohit Sharma chose to bat first.

These players have been cut

It is worth noting that Rohit Sharma’s choice of batting first may prove to be correct. Because so far 85 Test matches have been played in Adelaide, out of which the team batting first won 41 matches. Whereas the team bowling first has won only 24 matches. If we talk about India’s playing eleven, many changes have been seen in it after the return of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma.

Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal have been left out. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has entered the playing eleven along with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Apart from this, Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood could not be a part of this match due to injury. Scott Boland has replaced him.

India has bitter memories associated with Adelaide

The Australian team has always dominated the Adelaide Oval. It is very difficult to challenge the Kangaroo players on this ground. Team India also has bitter memories associated with this stadium. Actually, in 2020-21, Indian players toured Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

During this, a day-night Test match ( IND vs AUS ) was also played, in which India had to face a humiliating defeat by eight wickets. The Australian team demolished Team India’s second innings for just 36 runs. In such a situation, now Rohit Sharma and company would like to avenge their previous defeat by winning this match to be played from December 6.
