Nothing special happened this time in the mega auction for Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The team management did not seem to be successful in buying any big player in this auction.

Due to this, the biggest concern for KKR is who to make the captain for the upcoming season. The team has bought Venkatesh Iyer for Rs 23.75 crore but after this, they do not seem to be in the mood to make him the captain. If the news is to be believed, this time KKR is thinking of making this player, who broke Australia’s pride of Gabba, the captain…

KKR did not buy any captain

Last season’s title-winning captain Shreyas Iyer was released for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) this time. With this, the management spent Rs 23.75 crore on Venkatesh Iyer in the mega auction. Apart from this, there is no player in the entire team who can handle the responsibility of captaining the team. In such a situation, the management has now decided to make the player who broke the pride of Gabba the captain.

In this year’s mega auction, no team bought Ajinkya Rahane in the first round but in the second round, KKR bought him at his base price of Rs 1.50 crore. The team management is now planning to hand over the command of the team to him for the upcoming season. After all the strategies flopped in the mega auction, the management is forced to take this step.

Rahane is counted among successful captains

Ajinkya Rahane has served as captain for many teams. Along with Team India, he has also captained in IPL and domestic cricket. Although his captaincy record in IPL has been poor, his captaincy for domestic cricket and Team India has been excellent. He has captained in 25 IPL matches in which he has won 9 matches and lost 16 matches.

He captains Mumbai in domestic cricket and recently he led the team to victory in Ranji Trophy, after which he also led the team to victory in Irani Cup. On the last tour of Australia, he was the captain of Team India and Indian team won the series against Australia by 2-1
