Because of this Rishabh Pant was dropped

Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal did an interview with ‘ESPNcricinfo’, in which he talked on many issues. At the same time, when he was asked about the former captain of the team, Rishabh Pant, he said that the franchise wanted to retain him but he did not have the same views with the management regarding running the team. Because of this, DC decided to release him (Rishabh Pant). Parth Jindal said,

“We had different views on running the franchise. That is why this (Pant’s separation from the team) happened. It has nothing to do with money. Money was never an issue for Rishabh. Money was never an issue for us either. I think the three of us (Kiran Gandhi, Jindal and Pant) did not have the same thinking.”

Weren’t your relations with the team management good?

Parth Jindal said in his statement that before the mega auction, the team management was trying everything possible to retain Rishabh Pant. But his views were completely different from everyone else. DC co-owner revealed,

“He (Pant) finally made a decision. We tried everything, but he had made up his mind to move on. It is all about running the franchise. We had certain expectations from him and he had certain expectations from us. All I can say is that we were unable to agree on a few things.”

“It will be hard to get him back.”

Parth Jindal says that the franchise could have spent Rs 22-23 crore for Rishabh Pant. But when his price reached Rs 27 crore, they backed out from buying him. Parth Jindal said,

“The moment we didn’t retain him, I knew it would be a tough decision to bring him back. We used the ‘right-to-match’ for him for Rs 20.25 (crore), but then the budget became too high. We were ready to increase it to Rs 22-23 (crore).”
