Team India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami was away from cricket due to surgery after the ODI World Cup 2023. But, he has returned to the Ranji Trophy after a long period of 1 year. At the same time, Shami’s name has also been included in Bengal’s squad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

However, after bowling brilliantly in Ranji, it was believed that Shami would be in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. But, his name was not included in the squad for the first Test. When captain Jasprit Bumrah was asked about this, he said,

“Mohammed Shami is an important part of this team. He has started bowling and the management is keeping a close eye on him, hopefully you will see him here.”

Fans are eyeing the return of Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami is one of the most experienced fast bowlers of Team India. He has won many matches for India on the basis of his bowling. But, his absence from the team somehow shows the weakness of India’s fast bowling unit. Shami has been bowling well for the Indian team whenever he gets the chance.

He created havoc in the ODI World Cup last year by taking 24 wickets in the least number of matches. In such a situation, fans want to see Shami bowling like this again. India also has to play the Champions Trophy next year. Before that, cricket lovers are waiting for Shami’s return.

Rohit Sharma may return in the second test

Captain Rohit Sharma is not a part of the Perth Test in the Border Gavaskar Trophy being played against Australia. He could not be a part of the first Test due to the birth of his second child. But, Jasprit Bumrah has made it clear that Hitman may return in the second Test to be played in Adelaide. He has been informed of this information by the team management and the head coach.
