SL vs NZ:

New Zealand (SL vs NZ) ended the series on a draw by winning the second match of the ongoing two-match T20 series against Sri Lanka . The two teams faced each other on November 10, which was hosted by the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. The Kiwi team, who came to bat first after losing the toss, were all out for 108 runs. In reply, the Sri Lankan team was all out for just 103 runs and suffered defeat by three runs.

The New Zealand team (SL vs NZ), which came to bat first after losing the toss, did not have a good start at all. More than half the team returned to the pavilion before the completion of ten overs. Opener Tim Robinson was dismissed for a golden duck by Nuwan Tushara. Mark Chapman returned to the pavilion after scoring 2 runs, Glenn Phillips 4 runs and Mitchell only 3 runs. While on one end the team was losing its wickets at regular intervals, on the other hand Will Young tried to handle the innings. Despite this, he was able to score only 30 runs in 32 balls and was dismissed by Kusal Mendis off Wanindu Hasaranga.  

New Zealand team collapsed on 108 runs 

Wanindu Hasaranga’s bowling wreaked havoc on the New Zealand team (SL vs NZ). He took four wickets in four overs. He took the wickets of Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Hee and Will Young. Apart from him, Matisha Patirana also showed his bowling prowess. He took three wickets. Nuwan Tushara took two and Mahish Theekshana took one wicket. Will Young was the highest run scorer for the team. Mitchell Santner contributed 19 runs and Josh Clarkson contributed 24 runs.

Sri Lanka team (SL vs NZ) came to bat in the reply innings and opener Pathum Nissanka gave them a good start. He scored 52 runs in 51 balls hitting six fours. However, apart from him, no other player could play a good innings and fell to the Sri Lankan bowlers. Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 15 runs and Mahish Theekshana scored 14 runs. All other batsmen were out before reaching the ten-run mark. Kiwi bowler Lockie Ferguson put pressure on the opposition team by taking a three-wicket hat-trick. 

The wickets of Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis and Charith Aslanka were his to name. Glenn Phillips took three wickets, while Michael Bracewell took two wickets. Due to wickets falling at regular intervals, no big partnership could be made between any batsman from Sri Lanka, due to which the team’s innings was reduced to 103 runs.
