After the crushing defeat of Team India in the New Zealand Test series, head coach Gautam Gambhir has become the target of critics. Many questions are being raised on him since the Mumbai Test match. According to reports, the Indian Board is going to take action against him (Gautam Gambhir).

Gautam Gambhir in trouble

After India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the BCCI handed over the responsibility of head coach to Gautam Gambhir. He made a great start to his coaching career by winning the T20 series against Sri Lanka. But in the three-match ODI series, India had to face a humiliating defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.

After this, now New Zealand defeated Team India in its home. In such a situation, now the news is coming that BCCI is going to take action against Gautam Gambhir. Actually, he was given special permission to attend the team selection committee meeting for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Gautam Gambhir gets special rights

The Indian selectors selected the team for the Border Gavaskar Trophy only after consulting
Gautam Gambhir . But now the news is coming that the BCCI will hardly give him importance on issues related to team selection. The Indian board believes that Gautam Gambhir has been given those rights as the head coach which Ravi Shastri and Rahul Dravid did not get. Despite this, the team had to face a shameful defeat. Let us tell you that according to the rules of BCCI, the head coach is not allowed to sit in the selection committee meeting.

All eyes will be on the Border Gavaskar Trophy

It is worth noting that after losing the New Zealand Test and Sri Lanka ODI series, all eyes will be on Gambhir in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Under his leadership, the Indian team will play a Test series on foreign soil for the first time. Facing the Kangaroo team in Australia will be very challenging for the Indian players. Let us tell you that one of the five Test matches to be played against Australia will be played with a pink ball. If the Indian team is unable to perform well in this too, then Gambhir’s throne may be in danger.
