South Africa (AUSW vs SAW) has qualified for the final by defeating Australia in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup 2024. The players of the Proteas team performed well in the clash held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, due to which they won by eight wickets.

On the other hand, after India, Australia’s dream of becoming the champion was also shattered. After creating a stir in the group stage, the Kangaroo team had made it to the knockout round. But they shocked everyone by facing a crushing defeat in the semi-finals.

AUSW vs SAW: Australia’s dream of becoming champion shattered 

Australia’s women’s cricket team is as fierce as their men’s team. The Kangaroo women’s team has also been seen dominating the ICC tournament. However, something happened on October 19 that hardly anyone would have thought of. South Africa has got a ticket to the final by defeating the Australian team by eight wickets in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

For the first time in the 15-year history of the Women’s T20 World Cup, the Australian team will not play the final. Like India, the dream of the team captained by Alyssa Healy to become the T20 World Cup 2024 champion has been shattered. 

Kangaroo team out of the final

The Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur  could not even reach the semi-finals. After facing humiliating defeats at the hands of Australia and New Zealand, India was out of the knockout match. Team India lost to both these teams by 58 runs and 9 wickets respectively. On the other hand, if we talk about the AUSW vs SAW match, then after winning the toss, Laura Woolfart invited Australia to bat first, after which the team scored 134 runs for the loss of 5 wickets on the scoreboard. During this, Beth Mooney scored 44 runs in 42 balls.

This South African batsman created a stir 

Talia McGrath, Alice Perry and Phoebe Litchfield contributed 27 runs, 31 runs and 16 runs respectively. Grace Harris was out after scoring 3 runs and Georgia Wehreum was out after scoring 5 runs. In reply, South Africa captain Laura Woolfart played a stormy innings of 42 runs and laid the foundation for the team’s victory. In the end, Anneka Bosch played an unbeaten half-century innings of 74 runs and sealed the match in favor of the Proteas team. On the basis of these two innings, Africa scored 135 runs in 17.2 overs and won the match by eight wickets and made it to the final.
