According to the new rules of IPL , all teams can retain a maximum of 6 players this time. The franchise has to submit the list of retained players to the board by October 31. Meanwhile,  IANS has reported that KL Rahul does not want to be retained in the Lucknow team.

On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants have also made up their mind to release Rahul before the auction. Because there  has been no agreement between the two on many matters. The IANS  report states that – ” Rahul really wants to enter the mega auction , as LSG cannot retain him. Depending on the results of various discussions about who will be retained or what will be the price of retention , it should not be surprising if Rahul is included in the auction list.”

Rajasthan Royals will also release Dhruv Jurel

Apart from Rahul, Dhruv Jurel can also be seen in the mega auction.  According to the IANS report, Jurel’s team Rajasthan has made full preparations to release him before the auction. Jurel played as an impact player for Rajasthan last season.

Releasing KL Rahul may prove costly for LSG

KL Rahul has been one of the most important players of the Lucknow team since 2022. Along with captaincy, he has performed brilliantly with the bat for the team in the last two years. While playing for Lucknow, Rahul has scored 1410 runs in 38 matches. Which includes two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
